    Description

Beautiful set of 24 prints originally painted by German-born artist Winold Reiss.  All prints are in excellent condition and each one could be framed individually.  The colors are amazing - some bold and saturated, others muted, but all are rich and vibrant.  The set includes the original envelope they came in, published by the Great Northern Railway of St. Paul, Minnesota.  Please note that unfortunately, it does not include the pamphlet that was originally included written by Frank Bird Lindemann.
Each print has a caption identifying the person or people in the portrait and a brief comment with additional background information, relationships to other members of the tribe, identification of the individual's band or branch within the Blackfeet tribe, etc.
There are pictures of 10 prints included in this listing.  The other 14 are on Imgur:  https://imgur.com/a/yXGEuRR
The envelope containing the prints has wear, mostly scuffs and scratches along the edges and the flap is torn but has been taped.  A few of the prints have some spots on them, not much larger than a pin head and a few faint scuffs (for example, see the second picture on the bottom).
Winold Reiss lived on a Blackfeet Indian reservation in the 1920s and was commissioned by the Great Northern Railway to paint portraits of the Blackfeet.  These were included in Great Northern calendars and other frameable lithographs, like this set.
