Offered for your consideration is an antique faux tortoise shell  Mantilla hair comb ornament.  This intricate hair accesory piece measures 5" tall x 3 1/2" at widest point.
The comb has 5 tines and a wedge shaped heading. Faux tortoise shell combs like this, without any form of decoration, continued to be worn even when the large and elaborate mid Victorian combs had begun to lose their popularity.
A lovely detailed piece to add to your collection.
