Description:
Presented for your consideration is this neat antique covered candy dish. The dish is made of clear glass and is of a duck laying on a nest. The lid of the dish is the laying duck and has nice, intricate detailing that includes molded wings, feathers, bill and painted eyes. Dark grey paint is on the tips of the feathers as well. The base of the dish has a stripe pattern around the top edge with waves on the front and back to give it the look of a nest. Bottom of the base has a starburst (or sunburst) pattern. There are no markings to indicate a manufacturer but it is believed to have been made by Westmoreland as they produced the same dish only in different colors. This neat dish would make a great addition to any figural or art glass collection!
Light roughness is around the inside edge of the lid. There is a small chip on the underside of the tail. Light age and use wear. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 8 1/2" from the tip of the bill to the end of the tail, 8" wide at the base, 6" deep and 5" tall.
