    Description

    An original oil painting on Masonite board by listed Navajo artist Cal Nez.  Signed and dated in the lower right side "CAL NEZ 76". Oddly, there is another signature that has been lightly washed over, also Cal Nez 76 with an arrow and a Hogan.  The subject is Shiprock, located in the Navajo Nation, New Mexico. The artist has applied a shiny varnish, giving the work a distinctive sheen. This piece would look great framed. The artist cut this piece from a larger Masonite board. It measures 14" x 16". It is in very good condition.
