    Description

    Up for auction is a
    VERY RARE
    book entitled Shuriken.
The author of the book is Kanji Naruse (1888-1943).
Kanji Naruse was the 3rd Soke of Negishi Ryu Shurikenjutsu and the headmaster of Yamamoto Ryu.
He wrote many books on swords and sword repair but because of extreme nationalistic
    beliefs
many of his books have been removed from Japanese libraries making this book even more rare.
In April 15, 1927 he meet the second headmaster of Negishi Ryu Shurikenjutsu. At this meeting, the aged Tonegawa (1850 - 1939), demonstrated throwing a chopstick into a tatami which impressed Naruse so deeply that he became his student. Naruse studied with Tonegawa for 13 years before his passing in 1939.
Tonegawa died while Naruse was serving in the military. I
n the book he mentions that it is ironic that on the day his teacher dies
his student Maeda Isamu became famous by
    avenging
the death of his commander with a shuriken.
When Naruse died it was Maeda that paid for and arranged for Naruse funeral.
Inside the book the author says "It has been 17 years since I try to research the documents on shuriken. I have found that no books on shuriken have been published. Collecting those fragmentary materials, I have published this book as a
    first book on shuriken
    "
The book was printed on July 30, 1943 in a
very limited edition of only 2,000 copies
    (stated inside).
I will also include the only known film of Maeda Isamu on DVD recorded by my father in Japan in the 1960's.
    Please see below.
The book and DVD can be shipped worldwide.
